In 1975, I was just a wee lad putting together what I considered to be the greatest Christmas list ever created. Of course I thought that every year when I was a kid as I put together my Christmas list. I was recently rummaging through a slew of childhood memories in a scrapbook I put together in my 20s when to my wonder I found this list from 1975! I even have a photo from that particular Christmas morning, although the quality is not the greatest (see below). But you can see my favorite gift sitting under the tree – Hugo, Man of a Thousand Faces, a toy from the Kenner company that can now be purchased for $350.00 on eBay. Hmmm, it was fun but not that fun. Other highlights included an AMT model Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise Command Bridge, Minnesota Vikings mittens, More Strange but True Football Stories of the NFL, and much more. I’ve included my entire list below, although I received only a fraction of these gifts for Christmas that year. One caveat is that since my birthday was December 17, my childhood Christmas lists always included the disclaimer that it would serve as a great birthday list too for those interested in gifting things to me 🙂 I hope you enjoy this time capsule and that it might even bring back a toy memory or two.
